Story from GospelHerald.com

The Privacy For All Students (PFAS) coalition hereby announce that we have submitted over 620,000 signatures to election officials to qualify a statewide referendum allowing voters to reject the co-ed bathroom law (AB 1266) that was enacted by the Legislature and signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. The coalition needs 504,760 valid voter signatures to qualify the referendum. Once validated by election officials, the law will be suspended until voters decide whether to approve or reject it in November 2014.

“We have made history since this is the largest number of signatures ever submitted in California for a mainly volunteer based referendum! We thank everybody who supports this campaign,” said Frank Lee, Chairman of Bay Area Advisory Board of Pacific Justice Institute and a member of the steering committee of PFAS. “Many people said we had no chance to collect over half a million signatures within just 90 days, but we have proven them wrong by gathering over 115,000 more signatures than the minimum required.”

AB 1266 is a law that opens sex-separated school facilities such as showers, bathrooms and locker rooms to students of the opposite sex regardless of their actual gender if they claim an identity with that sex. The law is scheduled to go into effect on January 1st of 2014 unless the referendum qualifies for the ballot.

PFAS collected approximately 400,000 volunteer signatures, which were supplemented by over 220,000 paid signatures.

Mary’s Little Lamb

One of the Pastor’s at my church shared this during last night’s mid-week service.

Mary had a little Lamb, He was born on Christmas day.
She laid Him in a manger bed, to sleep upon the hay.

Mary had a little Lamb, His life was white as snow,
And everywhere that God would lead, the Lamb was sure to go

Mary had a little Lamb, but He wasn’t hers, you know,
He was the very Son of God, the One who loves us so.

He came to give us joy and peace, and take away our sin,
So when He knocks on your heart’s door, be sure to let Him in.

Why do I love this precious Lamb? What can the reason be?
The answer is quite plain to see, it’s because He first loved me!

Why I Am Considering Canceling My Subscription To “The Blaze”

When Glenn Beck rose to stardom on Fox News, he was a voice of power and credibility to the conservative movement when we needed it the most. The economy was in shambles, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan were in full force and Barack Obama was days away from being inaugurated for the first time as President.

Beck was a driving force behind the launch of the tea party movement, the 9/12 project, and the Restoring Honor rally at the Lincoln Memorial . He left Fox News in June 2011 and launched GBTV later that year. The network has since changed names to The Blaze. I subscribed to the online version of the network shortly after its launch.

What has me ticked off at Beck as of late is his unabashed flip flop on Mitt Romney and his statement on the 2016 election.

During the election, Beck compared Romney to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

But as we can see here and here, Beck has changed course and is now saying that he is embarrassed he voted for Romney. Beck has also said he probably wouldn’t support the Republican candidate in 2016.

How can he possibly say that without even knowing who the potential candidates are going to be?

Beck has lost a lot of credibility since leaving Fox News.

I don’t really care that much if he changed his opinion on Romney, even though he looks foolish doing so. What I don’t understand is how he can say he won’t vote Republican ever again without knowing who the candidates will be in 2016 and future elections.

Even though his power is fading, Beck still has some influence on the conservative movement and his recent comments are not doing us any favors.

I’m fed up with the GOP establishment as much as he is, but outright saying he will not vote for any GOP candidate is wrong.

The Blaze is a great network, but if Beck keeps down this road, I may just have to cancel my subscription to his network.
